PRANA is Sanskrit for life force, vital energy, the breath that sustains life and a state of wellbeing. Prana, a central element in Ayurveda and Yoga, was first expounded in the Upanishads. Along with Vak or speech, Chaksus or sight, Shrotra or hearing, Manas or thought, it is one of the five organs of vitality.
Prana is interpreted variously as Chi/ Qi in China, Ruah in Hebrew Old Testament, Ki in Japan, Pneuma in Greece, the Holy Spirit in the Bible, and Ruh in the Qoran.
